Max of Max Velocity Tactical writes this article about the importance of continuing your tactical preparations, even after a Trump victory.
It was reported to me that many businesses in the tactical and preparedness industry had bought in a ton of stock prior to the election, anticipating a Hillary win, and that they have been desperately trying to sell off that overstock due to the Trump win. It simply amazes me that people base a lot of their preparations on who occupies the White House, but it is a reality in ‘the business.’ A very odd way for people to make their knee-jerk ‘threat assessments.’ I took a different view, as a tactical training company – the election of Trump meant (to me) that I was not immediately expecting more anti-2A laws coming down the pike, which meant time to continue to build the business, and on a personal level, train and prepare. Because that is the key point – the election of Trump does not free us from the reality of ‘the collapse,’ it simply means that the current administration is not overtly hostile to gun owners and Liberty. A breathing space, nothing more. We still live in extremely uncertain times.
So what is it? Why did so many people appear to crawl back under the comforter following the Trump win? Those that had at least partially woken up to the need for tactical preparedness, in many cases, just went back to sleep. Amazing, and not rational. At MVT, we have a very active group of Alumni who return again and again for training; they have internalized the warrior ethos, and train to be prepared to defend their families. But we have noticed a distinct drying up of ‘new blood’ coming in to classes. It is definitely a phenomenon…
I know, I know: what we teach at MVT are true warrior skills, and not mere games at the range. I know that this fact in itself puts many people out of the demographic. But I am aware of that, and I know that most people are not warriors, they are not true protectors. They are fearful and weak. The people I am interested in are those with the courage to step up, identify the need, and make the commitment to get some real tactical training.

From Bison Prepper is this article on four storage plans.
I of course KNOW that all you ever hear from me is “buy wheat, and that’s it”. Okay, that’s not entirely true. If you read the entire last ten years of blog posts I’ve covered plenty of other storage foods. It just seems like all I ever discuss is wheat and wheat accessories. I’m SOOO sorry I’ve focused on the most inexpensive food which is also the healthiest for you. But real Christian Militiamen don’t eat wheat. Wheat is for peasants and besides they have their own freeze dried machine ( that never works and must be hacked and requires a direct line to the companies Help Desk which is all anybody could ask from a unit costing four grand ). And do you ever see wheat being advertised on your favorite Yuppie Scum Survival Site? Just saying.
So now, I’m going to discuss the four completely different food storage plans. Not a “wheat only” or a “MRE/Freeze dry only” plan that is supposed to be a One Plan Fits All Scenarios. Four separate storage plans for four phases of our collapse. The first is the Budget Plan, which is just buying whatever you like that goes on sale. This is for drastically reducing your food budget. The next is the Inflation Plan, which is just really an extension of the Budget Plan but different in that you are stocking the complete menu you normally follow. The aim is to have weeks or months worth of a complete diet so you can then relax and keep expanding it cheaper. The Inflation will merge into the Budget while reducing your regular price items. The Bug-In Plan is the foods requiring little to no cooking for the times you are bugging out or bugging in under noise/light and smell discipline ( the aforementioned MRE/Freeze Dried ). Last is the Mostly Just Wheat menu which is the Collapse Plan. None of this is new or unique, the point is to approach food storage as separate needs and focuses.
From The Organic Prepper, Letters from Venezuela: This Is What Life Is Really Like in a Post-Collapse Society
You can’t go outside to buy food or supplies or medication because each activity is a high risk and more with a baby. So I stay home as much as I can. There are a lot people outside trying to live normaly, trying to go to work and buy foods and continue there lives. But when you are working or whatever thing your doing you dont know is you will be able to come back home safe… people continues to work to get whatever miserable pay to buy some food. Everything is so expensive. Perhaps the beans and rice are affordable but still not cheap and is so hard to find food. options are limited because of the price… you can only buy one item or two of pasta, rice, like I say the less expensive food , and you have to wait in long long lines at your own risk because there are a lot of fights in this store. imagine tones of people wanting to buy the same product. this have being worst since perhaps about 5 years now… because of scarcity.
Malls and big stores are basicly alone because there are places where “colectivos” use to attack, with bombs and there is a group of about 40 men in motorcicles that have been creating chaos in the whole city, every day the take the city they have plenty of arms and the just go through the city shooting building houses, stealing stores, people on the streets, batteries of cars, everything the want… this situation is far worst that we ever imagine. they kill people every day and they are pay mercenaries from the goverment because no one does nothing. the goverment people is also killing inocents. kids… teenagers, the youth. we are panicking.
From trainer Gabe Suarez of Suarez International, comes this article The “REAL” Solution To Jihadist Knife Attacks about how to prepare for possible attacks.
In this article, which I am certain will upset the “martial arts” guys, I will discuss the reality of facing a jihadist with a knife bent of “stabbing anyone they see”. I will discuss “The Jihadist Vehicle Attacks” later.
So here we go –

There are no secret techniques to defend against the knife by physically frail and empty handed males. It takes violence and weapons. And in that order.

In a new article, “The Only Call to Action For Me,” John Mosby of the Mountain Guerrilla blog, discusses again the importance of community and strengthening the bonds between your community members.
The archaeological, anthropological, and historiographic record of the collective human experience pretty clearly indicates that, in order for any human cultural activity to succeed, some form of community must be engaged in the collective effort towards the achievement of the goal. In order for that to take place, the members of the community must be willing to sacrifice self to some degree, and act in a spirit of service to the community. The idealist naivete of “reason always prevails,” or that mental cleverness alone can resolve the world’s problems, without physical effort or community participation, falls flat, as soon as a foe is met who is willing to stop talking, and start chopping the heads off the intellectuals.
As usual for Mosby, language warning.

From Fox News, conservative Milwaukie County Sheriff David Clarke will resign his position to accept a position in the Trump administration:
Clarke told WISN 1130/AM host Vicki McKenna that he would be an assistant secretary in the Department of Homeland Security, where he’ll act as a liaison to local and state law enforcement, tribes, and the private sector. The position will be in the Office of Public Partnership and Engagement.
“I’m both honored and humbled to be apt to this position,” Clarke said. “It’s going to be a steep learning curve for me, serving in the Department of Homeland Security, and I look forward to joining that team.”

June 18, 2017 Update: Sheriff Clarke has rescinded his acceptance of a Homeland Security position.
The Tri-City Herald reports:
Benton County commissioners picked Acting Sheriff Jerry Hatcher to continue leading the sheriff’s department until later this year.
Hatcher, the county’s former undersheriff, was picked to succeed Steve Keane, after commissioners interviewed three candidates for the job in a special session Tuesday afternoon.
The commission interviewed Hatcher, Kennewick Police Sgt. Ken Lattin and Benton County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Bob Brockman.
The vote was 2-1 for Hatcher. Commissioner Jim Beaver voted no but didn’t say why.
The decision sets the stage for a contested election in November when candidates will run to serve out the remainder of Keane’s term, which expires in 2018. This week is filing week and Lattin filed his paperwork Tuesday for the sheriff’s position.
From Charles Smith of the Of Two Minds blog, comes this brief article on why the gap between urban and rural politics.
Many pundits have commented on the remarkable asymmetry of counties won by the Democratic Party (blue counties) and in 2016 and those won by Republican Party (red counties): the Democrats won big in heavily urban counties and the Republicans won most rural counties.
This visible division prompted numerous article such as this: Cities vs. Trump: Red state, blue state? The urban-rural divide is more significant. “Like most red-state cities, Idaho’s capital is remarkably short on conservatives. Last November, while Hillary Clinton mustered only 27.5 percent of the statewide vote, she hit north of 75 percent in some of Boise’s urban precincts. Politically, the city might as well be on a different planet from towns that lie a couple of exits away.”
The article follows a simple and superficially appealing narrative: the reason for the divide is cultural: cities are liberal, the countryside is conservative.
But there must be more to the divide than values and political culture; difficult social issues like addiction that once were defined as urban problems are now rural problems: American Epidemic: The Nation’s Struggle With Opioid Addiction (34:26 min)

Reporting from Agriculture.com suggests severe damage to the wheat crop of western Kansas, a state that produced 25% of the country’s wheat last year.
Blizzard conditions and heavy snow swept western Kansas, including 14 to 20 inches in Colby in the northwestern quadrant of the No. 1 winter wheat state in the nation, said the Weather Channel. “We lost the western Kansas wheat crop this weekend. Just terrible,” tweeted Justin Gilpin, chief executive of the grower-funded Kansas Wheat Commission.
The snow and freezing weather struck a winter wheat crop that was developing faster than usual, thanks to a mild winter. As a result, the crop was more vulnerable to spring snowfalls and frost.

Representatives of the South African Suidlanders group will be speaking on Tuesday, May 2nd from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm in the Jordan Hay shop at 22202 N Hinzerling Road, Prosser, WA. All are welcome to come and listen to their story. Please bring any friend whom you believe may be open to their message.
The Suidlanders are an emergency plan initiative officially founded in 2006 to prepare a Protestant Christian South African minority for a coming violent revolution. They are non-aggressive and legal in their preparations; constituted lawfully under the Geneva Convention, with particular reference to Protocols I & II of the Protocols Additional, for the protection of non-combatant civilian Afrikaners (women, children, the elderly and the non-able bodied) in the event of a civil war. They are primarily a Bible believing Christian conservative group, calling on their members to personally prepare for an emergency situation like major civil unrest. Their representatives have recently been traveling across the United States in order raise awareness of the issues they are facing in South Africa and recent escalations of tensions there. Government officials of the ruling ANC party have been caught chanting “Kill the Boer” while other leaders have openly threatened outright slaughter of white Afrikaners. Accordingly, Genocide Watch has placed South African whites on their list of groups vulnerable to genocide.
For more information about the Suidlanders group, please visit their website at https://suidlanders.org and http://southafricasos.org/ or listen to the recent interview done by John Jacob Schmidt of Radio Free Redoubt by clicking here.
Brushbeater blog writes about South Africa’s recent cancellation of 2,100 amateur radio licenses, a possible sign of governmental instability or crackdown. For more South African situation information, see our recent post of the Radio Free Redoubt interview with the Suidlanders.
This morning this story came across by usual news blotter and it’s disturbing to say the least.
Usually during severe government instability with a coming crackdown, Amateur Radio licenses are one of the first things to get pulled- the narrative must be controlled, with any potential communications between dissident groups being cut. The previous amateur allotments are then heavily monitored for traffic by anyone other than ‘authorized users’. Now to what degree the repression can be maintained is anyone’s guess. But when the president of your nation is making statements like this, it’s time to kit up.
According to the article, the licenses were cancelled due to “non-payment of license fees“. Unlike here in the US, South Africa requires an annual renewal. However what’s left out is the question of whether or not the trust holders were actually notified or if the official statement can even be taken at face value. My guess would be no. The article may have indicated that the government regulating agency attempted to notify those delinquent on their fees, but it would not surprise me in the least if those notices were never sent out, possibly even pre-selecting potential dissidents for cancellation to have them call the offices and complain just to map out the dedicated (because governments never do that, do they?).
