S2 Underground has a quick video on responding to an incident in your area.
“What do I do when X happens?” is a question we get fairly often. While no one can answer that for each specific event, there are basic steps one can take if located outside the general area of an incident, but still need to be involved. This is our attempt to create a very basic, stop-gap solution to this when it comes to communications. There will be more to come on this topic later, but in the interest of expediency, this is what we have for now.

In the video below, S2 Underground talks about the military practice of Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace. This is an analytical process for providing verified information in order to plan and execute operations. If you are familiar with Forward Observer‘s Area Study classes and videos, then you know that Forward Observer has adapted these military practices to civilian intelligence for preparedness and SHTF operations.
S2’s video is a high level overview of the IPB process, but you should be able to glean some ideas on how it would apply to civilian preparedness. If not, then maybe it is helpful to think about operational environment as your block, neighborhood, or town. Threats could be drug cartels, foreign armies, hurricanes, EMP, or power outages. And then you can decide your worst case scenarios from there.
S2 Underground has a new video providing an introduction to signals intelligence, that is intelligence derived from electronic signals and systems, such as communications systems, radars, and weapons systems. If you’re interested in the topic, Brushbeater has a signals intelligence course, though the last one for 2022 was a week ago.
Just a few reminders for everyone who’s just become aware of us, in order to keep these briefings from being several hours long, we can’t cover everything. We’re probably covering 1% of the world events when we conduct these briefings, so please remember that if we left it out, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s unimportant. Also, remember that we do these briefings quite often, so we might have covered an issue previously that you might not see if you are only watching our most recent videos. We’re also doing this in our spare time, so again we fully admit that these briefings aren’t even close to being perfect; we’re going for a healthy blend of speed and quality. If we were to wait and only post a brief when it’s “perfect” we would never post anything at all. So expect some minor errors on the slides here and there. If there is a major error or correction that needs to be made, we will post it here in the description, and verbally address it in the next briefing, whenever that is. We do not have a set schedule for when these videos are published…when we get enough info that we think is worth it, we brief it. If we were bound to a schedule we would be obligated to provide fluff for the days where there isn’t anything worth commenting on. Also, thanks for reading this far. It is always surprising the number of people that don’t actually read the description box to find more information.

In the following video, S2 Underground talks about shortwave/HF radio and how to use it during emergencies, disasters, and other scenarios. In the US, authorization to transmit on HF comes mostly with the General level amateur radio license, though there are some limited allocations for the Technician class to use CW/morse code. If you’re already involved with an emergency radio group like AmRRON, then you may already be familiar with a lot of the topics he discusses, but if you haven’t been involved with communications at all, then this may give you a good overview.

If you taken the Groundrod course from Combat Studies Group, then you’ve learned about one-time pads, but maybe you need a refresher. Maybe you’re completely unfamiliar with this method of encryption which is considered unbreakable unless your pad is compromised, either through being stolen or if it was not randomly generated. Get an introduction or refresher from S2 Underground in this video.
The following in the June 16 intelligence update from S2 Underground. It discusses food and fuel shortages, and recent US government actions on body armor and gun control among other topics.
Further to what S2 Underground mentions in the video above about Congressional testimony related to diesel fuel and DEF, below is a portion of that with a video of eight minutes of the testimony of the Pilot/Flying J CEO on diesel and DEF concerns.
